This is my place to share with family and friends. You might find handmade cards, digital scrapbook pages, photos or a little chatter because those are the things I love. My blog is a work in progress, so be patient with me. Most of the time I think I will be talking to myself, but hey, I'm used to that!

I finished a little kit to give away

I was in the mood to try a little designing this weekend. I finished up this little kit and uploaded it to 4Shared to share with you. I hope you like it! Remember, I am not a designer, just a scrapper so cut me some slack if you find any mistakes, lol!I would love it if you left me a comment if you download it. Get the kit HERE

More adventures at the Delaware shore

I went to my first wine tasting! The Nassau Vally Vineyard is Delaware's first and only award winning winery. What a nice little side stop this was. We toured the small winery and got to taste a few of their great wines.

Of course we had to bring home a couple of bottles of their finest wines too!

Lunch at the Buttery

Went for the Sunday brunch at a pretty little restaurant called the Buttery. This place is one of Carol's favorites. Your choice of champagne, Bloody Mary, or a Mimosa is served with a wonderful choice of fruits, pastries and whatever entree you would like. Carol had Salad Nicoise with crab and lobster. I chose the eggs Florentine with fresh asparagus. Yum! We couldn't finish our meal because the portions were so generous so our cute little Ukrainian server boxed up our pastries to take home.

Afterwards we strolled around Lewes and popped into a few shops. I got a really cute pair of flip flops, and Carol got some shoes as well. Aren't my shoes cute?

Life at the pond...

I am out of town at my sister's place in Delaware. The weather is beautiful! We haven't gotten to the beach or pool yet but we shopped at the outlets, and saw a movie Thurs. Friday we went to look at some houses with Carol's realtor. Carol and her husband Richard are looking for a retirement home here. Delaware is very retiree friendly when it comes to taxes and such. We finished up the evening with a Classical piano concert outdoors on the Lewes Library park like grounds. Such a breezy warm evening. Loved it!
Today we looked at more houses and Carol found one she loves! I didn't take photos there, might have to go back and I will. We spent the early afternoon at the Lewes Garden Tour. In addition to seeing a lot of pretty flowers, we enjoyed the entertainment which was fabulous! Three singers doing old Sinatra style songs. There were also food vendors and craftsmen selling there wares in the park. I took a few pictures, enjoyed the warm sun and had a few laughs with my sister. I think we are going to the beach at sunset tonight to try for some photos at the Delaware Bay.

I have really wanted

to scrap this picture that Carol took of Olivia the the National Gallery in Washington DC. I love the smile of her face. She just seems so thrilled to be there at the Van Gogh exhibit. This template by Jessica Bolton was perfect for the photos.

Just when you thought it was safe....

to go into the craft room again. I did the dumbest (is that a word?) thing Saturday! I was working in the craft room and bent over to get some thing out of one of the drawers of the Iris carts and poked myself in the eye with the edge of some cardboard. Ouch, that hurt! I think I bruised my eyeball. Pain, watery eye, blurred vision, not a lot of fun. Worst of all, I couldn't see well enough to read. I kept rinsing it with saline and I put some moisturizing gel in my eye and thank goodness, it is feeling better today. The vision is still blurred but the pain is gone. Hopefully it will heal up quickly.
Here is a picture of my new favorite card. I finally got my "Nestibilites" in the mail and now I can cut a rectangle, circle or scallop anywhere on the front of the card!
Nestibities are here if you are wondering what they are. Here is my card.

Stamps are from Stampin Up. Thanks for looking!

While I've been away

I've been making cards. I have a couple of new "tools" and I've been trying them out this past few days. I am in love with the Basic Grey magnetic cutting mat! It helps this girl make really clean cuts and is also handy for holding down things while the glue dries. The mat looks like this

and has eight powerful magnet tacks. Love this tool!
Here are a couple of the cards I made:

And this one, which is a particular favorite of mine.

I have another new tool to share about but that will have to wait for another day. It is late and I have to get up early tomorrow.

Can you backdate these posts?

Okay, so where did the last week go? For someone who always feels so busy, I don't seem to have much to show for it! This week has flown by and the weekend is upon us. This past Wednesday we had some very bad storms and a couple of tornadoes touched down very near us. About 4 miles away, there was a lot of damage and a couple of people injured. Not fun stuff, for sure! The weather has been quiet the last 2 days and I hope it stays that way. Here is a picture of some of the damage.

I had a scary couple of hours with my computer today. When I turned it on this morning (Friday) I got this error screen and it wouldn't boot up. I tried everything I knew to do, then call Dell support. When the tech asked "do you have anything on your computer that you would be upset about losing?" I knew I was in trouble. Duh, of course I do! He was proposing to reformat my hard drive and reinstall all my programs. I just couldn't bring myself to tell him about my thousands of digital scrapbooking files. I just croaked out, "couldn't we try something else first?" I won't bore you with the details but we did get it to boot up. As soon as I got off the phone, I started backing up photos and layouts as fast as I could. Most of them are backed up with Carbonite, but just to be sure I did the photos and the newest downloads I had. Phew!
